Summer school serves two families at once — the one whose student needs to catch up and the one whose student wants more — and a registration form that speaks only to remediation shames half its audience, while one that speaks only to enrichment fails the other. Why these fields. "Grade band just completed" is the phrasing that prevents summer's classic off-by-one error: parents asked for a grade level in June split unpredictably between the year finished and the year ahead, and rosters built on that ambiguity collapse in week one. The course multi-select caps at two because summer terms are short and intensive — three courses in six weeks is a schedule, not an education — and the cap communicates program philosophy without a paragraph of explanation.
